Migration includes all files and folders in the root of all fixed drives as well as the user profile shortcut locations.
- This includes the files and folders in the user profile (e.g. C:\Users\John), like the common Desktop, Favorites, Documents, Music, Videos, Pictures but also the Contacts, Libraries and Downloads folders.
In addition to this, the majority of the user profile settings will also be transferred.
- Browser Bookmarks and History for Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
- Accessibility settings
- Address book
- Command-prompt settings
- EFS files
- Group membership
- Favorites
- Folder options
- Fonts
- Microsoft ODBC settings
- Mouse and Keyboard settings
- Network drive mappings
- RAS connections and phonebook (.pbk) files
- Remote access
- User personal certificates
- Windows native email client
- Windows rights management
The following folders are excluded:
- Files that have both the hidden and system attributes set.
- Files and folders on removable drives.
- The %WINDIR%, %PROGRAMDATA% and %PROGRAMFILES% folders.
- SWsetup and HPSWsetup folders.
- Files and folders in other user profiles will be excluded. (Unless the user has read permissions for these locations)
