Preparing a new computer for migration

It is important that you follow these steps and checks before migrating the user’s files and profile settings with PC Migration Pro:

1. Logon to the user’s new computer with their credentials
2. Confirm Windows Operating System version on the new computer is correct.
3. Install commonly installed applications on new computer (Important that this is done before the migration!)
   1. Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Outlook and OneDrive)
   2. Microsoft Teams
   3. Adobe PDF
   4. Chrome / Firefox
4. Install any other applications
   • Review a list from Programs and Features on the old computer and install each application on the computer.
5. Check hard drive compatibility
   • Ensure that the new computer have sufficient disk space available to migrate all of the data (see https://help.pcmigrationpro.com/docs/what-happens-if-the-new-computer-has-less-disk-space-than-the-older-computer/)
